Open house sign-in that captures every visitor

Open house sign-in that captures every visitor

~5 min read

The open house tool turns a sign-in sheet into pipeline. You start a session for a listing, put a QR code on the door, and every visitor who signs in becomes a lead — tagged, sourced, and routed the same second they finish. No typing names off a clipboard on Monday.

Start an open house

You need a **published listing** to run one against. Two ways to start:

  1. 1In chat: "start an open house for 123 Main St" and give the start time. Closr matches the address to your published listing and opens the session. If the address matches more than one listing, it asks which.
  2. 2Or go to `/app/openhouse` and use the Start form. It's available once you have at least one published listing.
  3. 3Closr creates the session with a QR code and a shareable sign-in link, both on the session page.

Get visitors signing themselves in

Open the session page from `/app/openhouse`. It gives you everything to collect sign-ins three ways — pick whichever fits the house:

  • **Printed QR.** Click Print door poster and put it at the entry. Visitors scan it with their phone and sign in on their own device.
  • **NFC tap.** Write the sign-in link to an NFC tag or disc so a phone tap opens the form.
  • **Kiosk tablet.** Open kiosk mode on a tablet at the door. It shows the form full-screen and resets after each visitor for the next one.

The form asks the visitor for their name (required), an email or phone (at least one), whether they're already working with a realtor, and consent before you text them. That's it — a few taps.

What happens the moment they sign in

Each sign-in creates a lead in your pipeline right away — no import step. Closr tags it "open-house," sets the source to open house, and routes it by your assignment rules. Your speed-to-lead automations fire on it like any other new lead. If a visitor says they're looking for a realtor, Closr flags them hot and tags them "needs-realtor" so they rise to the top.

Work the roster

The session page shows a live roster as people sign in, and you can manage it from chat too:

  • "who signed in at the open house" — pull the roster with counts.
  • "note that Jane wants a bigger yard" — attach a note to a visitor while it's fresh.
  • "flag that visitor as hot" — mark the ones worth chasing first.

Close it out

When the open house is over, say "end the open house" (or use the controls on the session page) so no more sign-ins come in on that link. "show my open houses" lists all your sessions — scheduled, live, and ended — with their sign-in counts.

Running an attended table? Kiosk mode is the move — one tablet locked on the sign-in link, resetting itself after each guest. Running it unattended? The printed QR poster lets visitors sign in on their own phones with nothing for you to hand out.
