Deal participants: everyone on the deal in one place

~6 min read

A deal has more people than the client. There's the co-agent, both lawyers, the lender, the inspector, maybe a stager and a photographer. Participants put them all on the deal with a role each, so you have one clear list of who's who — and can message them or share status without digging through your phone.

Add someone to a deal

Add participants from the deal page at `/app/leads`, or in chat: "add the inspector to the deal." You can add two kinds of people:

  • **An existing contact** — Closr attaches them to the deal with the role you give.
  • **A new person** by name, email, or phone — they're **held on this deal only.** Closr does not save them to your contacts. Your contact book stays clean.

Changed your mind about a held person? "Save the stager to my contacts" promotes them to a real contact, or you can link them to an existing contact instead.

The roles

Every participant carries one role. The full set:

  • **Client side:** Seller, Buyer.
  • **Agents:** your co-listing partner (same team), the other side's listing agent, the other side's buyer agent.
  • **Legal & money:** buyer's lawyer, seller's lawyer, lender (also covers mortgage brokers).
  • **Service pros:** inspector, contractor, stager, photographer.
  • **Anyone else:** Other.

Change a role any time: "change the lawyer's role to co-op agent."

See and fix details

The deal page shows each participant on a card with a role chip and a running count. Fix a detail in chat — "fix the stager's email." For a held person, name, email, and phone live on the deal, so you edit them directly. For someone linked to a contact, those details come from the contact, so you edit the contact.

Message a participant

Say "email the inspector to confirm Thursday at 2." Closr drafts the message and shows you the exact text first — it sends only when you tap confirm. It goes out from your connected mailbox. This is transactional deal communication with someone already on the deal, so there's no marketing opt-in to worry about.

Share a read-only status link

Give a participant a private link to follow the deal: "share deal status with the buyer's lawyer." The link shows the property address, the current stage, and the milestone timeline — and nothing else. No documents, no messages. It carries your name and contact info, so it doubles as a referral touch. Turn it off or regenerate it any time, and every link expires on its own after 180 days.

Remove someone

"Remove the photographer." Closr shows a confirmation first and only removes the participant when you tap it — nothing is deleted on the strength of the sentence alone.

Held vs saved is the thing to remember: adding a person by name keeps them on this one deal and out of your contacts. Save them to contacts only when they're someone you'll want in your book beyond this transaction.
