Importing from any other CRM

~2 min read

If your CRM is not Follow Up Boss, kvCORE / BoldTrail, or Brivity, this is your path. Closr imports any CRM that exports a CSV with readable headers. It reads the columns, maps the ones it recognizes, and previews before writing. There is no API connector for these, so plan to export a file.

Steps

  1. 1Export your contacts from your CRM as a CSV. Almost every CRM has this under the contacts or people list.
  2. 2In Closr, drag the CSV into chat (or use the paperclip).
  3. 3Closr reads the headers and maps the fields it recognizes. The preview shows the format as 'CSV'.
  4. 4Check the column mapping in the preview, then click Import. Nothing is written until you confirm.

Making the mapping clean

Closr matches columns by common header names. If a column did not map, the fix is usually a rename: name email columns Email, Email 2, Email 3; phone columns Phone, Phone 2, Phone 3; the notes column Notes; the address column Address. Rename in your spreadsheet, save, and re-drop the file. The preview will show the new mapping.

What comes over

The fields in the CSV. Email threads, call recordings, text history, tasks, and saved searches stay in your old CRM. Those are not in the export.

Not sure if your CRM's file will map? Drop it in and look at the preview. It costs nothing: nothing is written until you click Import. The preview is the fastest way to find out what mapped and what needs a header rename.
